Baseball Game Preview: Evans Trojans vs. Colonial Grenadiers

Evans is 0-7 against Colonial since April of 2017 but things could change on Monday. Evans is taking a road trip to face off against Colonial at 6:00 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Evans is headed into Monday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their ninth straight game on Thursday. They came up short against Wekiva, falling 16-6. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Zaire Cornelius made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole five bases while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April of 2024.

Meanwhile, Colonial fell victim to South Lake and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They lost 10-0 to the Eagles. The Grenadiers haven't had much luck with the Eagles recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Evans' defeat dropped their record down to 1-10. As for Colonial, their loss dropped their record down to 5-10.

Evans might still be hurting after the 17-6 defeat they got from Colonial when the teams last played back in February. Can Evans avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
