Basketball Recap: Union County Comes Up Short

Union County lost against Broome back in December of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Union County Yellowjackets received a blow as they fell 60-44 to the Broome Centurions.

Broome's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Diamond Martin led the charge by dropping a double-double on 17 points and ten boards. The dominant performance also gave Martin a new career-high in blocks (four). Kourtney Wofford was another key player, going 5 for 12 on her way to 14 points in addition to seven boards and five assists.

Union County's loss dropped their record down to 7-9. As for Broome, they moved to 9-8 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Union County will host Chapman at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Broome, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Greer Middle College at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
