 Hopewell's game  last Wednesday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them  on Friday. They skirted past the New Castle Hurricanes  7-6. That's more bragging rights for Hopewell, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.
 Hopewell's win was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was  Kingston Krotec, who  scored a  run and  stole a base while going 2-for-3.
 On New Castle's side, they got a good showing from  Dominick Mrozek, who   struck out six batters over  four innings while giving up just one earned run off   two  hits.
 On the hitting side, New Castle saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  JT Warren, who  went 1-for-4 with four  RBI and a  run. Another player making a difference was  Phillip Laurenza, who  got on base  in three of his four plate appearances with a  double and  an  RBI.
 Hopewell now  has a winning record of 2-1. As for New Castle,  this is  the second loss in a row for them and  nudges their season record down to 0-2.
 Hopewell will play host again  on Wednesday to welcome Keystone Oaks, where first pitch is scheduled  at 4:00  p.m. As for New Castle, they are on the road again  on Monday to play Beaver at 4:30  p.m. The last six games New Castle has played (dating back to last season) have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
