Softball Recap: Monroe County Falcons vs. Fairdale Bulldogs
Monroe County never got on the board in their matchup on Friday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Fairdale on Saturday. They put the hurt on the Bulldogs with a sharp 21-15 win. Considering the Falcons' hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.
Bryna Cain made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over three innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off four hits (and only one walk). She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-5 with four runs and one RBI.

In other batting news, Monroe County got a massive performance out of Maelee Ford, who got on base in five of her six plate appearances with four runs and four RBI.
