Softball Game Preview: Summers County Bobcats vs. Bluefield Beavers

Summers County is 0-6 against Bluefield since March of 2017 but things could change on Thursday. The Bobcats are taking a road trip to square off against the Beavers at 5:30 p.m. Summers County has given up an average of 15.1 runs per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Summers County is headed into Thursday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their 20th straight game dating back to last season on Tuesday. They came up short against Liberty, falling 16-1.

Meanwhile, Bluefield didn't have quite enough to beat Wyoming East on Wednesday and fell 10-9. The Beavers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Bluefield's loss dropped their record down to 3-11. As for Summers County, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-12.

Summers County suffered a grim 21-0 defeat to Bluefield when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can the Bobcats avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
