Flag Football Recap: El Capitan Piles Up the Points Against Monte Vista + How To Watch

El Capitan got themselves on the board against Monte Vista on Tuesday, but Monte Vista never followed suit. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Monarchs 27-0. Considering the Vaqueros have won six matchups by more than 21 points this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

A big part of El Capitan's win came down to the chemistry between Kylee Frazier and her top target Gabriella Jackson. Frazier threw for 305 yards and four touchdowns while Jackson picked up 120 receiving yards and a pair of scores. Those 120 receiving yards gave Jackson a new career-high. A healthy portion of Frazier's aerial production (87 yards to be exact) also went to Mikaela Valencia.

One reason for the win was El Capitan's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for 11 sacks. Audra Guillory led the group effort, picking up seven of those sacks all by herself. Guillory is crushing it when it comes to sacks: she's posted at least one every time she's taken the field this season.

El Capitan has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-6 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 9.5 points on average over those games. As for Monte Vista, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-12.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. El Capitan will face off against rival El Cajon Valley at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Monte Vista is set to challenge their familiar foe West Hills at 7:15 p.m. on the 22nd.
