Baseball Recap: Oakridge Beats Cedar Springs for Their Fourth Straight Win

Oakridge extended their winning streak to four on Monday, bumping their season record up to 9-4 in the process. They walked away with an 11-7 win over the Cedar Springs Red Hawks. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Eagles also won the last time the pair played back in May of 2024.

Chase Dutton made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over four innings pitched. Dutton was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two runs and one RBI. Those two runs gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Evan Miller and Zac Cribbins did most of the damage at the plate: Miller went 2-for-5 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple, while Cribbins went 3-for-5 with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base. That triple marked the first that Miller has hit this season. Logen Huston was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs and one triple.

Oakridge was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .412. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Cedar Springs only posted a batting average of .259.

As for Cedar Springs, they are on a ten-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-12. On the bright side, the seven- run effort marked their highest-scoring matchup to date.

On Cedar Springs' side, Quinton Bell made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, one run, and one double.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Red Hawks beat Oakridge by a score of 10-3 later that day.
