Basketball Game Preview: Coventry Patriots vs. Grasso Tech Eagles

The Coventry Patriots will head out to take on the Grasso Tech Eagles at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Coventry is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Tourtellotte with a sharp 59-35 victory. The win was familiar territory for the Patriots, who have now won three contests in a row.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Grasso Tech, who bounced back after a loss on the road two weeks ago. They blew past CREC [Computer Science and Engineering/Academy] 84-56 on Tuesday. Grasso Tech has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 12 games by 20 points or more this season.

Coventry better keep an eye on Julius Washington. He was instrumental in Grasso Tech's win, dropping a double-double with 25 points and 11 boards. Washington's big performance that evening made it 21 games in a row in which he has scored at least 15 points. Jordan Washington was another key player, shooting 86% from the field on his way to 16 points and four steals.
