Baseball Game Preview: Lee Park Prep Knights vs. Gospel Light Christian

The Lee Park Prep Knights will take on Gospel Light Christian at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.

On Tuesday, Lee Park Prep didn't have quite enough to beat Grace Academy and fell 6-5. The Knights have struggled against the Lions recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.

Isaiah Carpenter was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-3.

Meanwhile, Gospel Light Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They came up short against Liberty Preparatory Christian Academy, falling 13-0.

Lee Park Prep's defeat dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Gospel Light Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 2-8.

The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Friday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Lee Park Prep has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.3 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Gospel Light Christian struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7.6 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.

Lee Park Prep came out on top in a nail-biter against Gospel Light Christian when the teams last played back in April of 2022, sneaking past 13-12. Will the Knights repeat their success, or do Gospel Light Christian have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
