Basketball Recap: Zavian Douglas and Gavin Broomfield Secure Win for Columbia

The third road matchup was the charm for Columbia, as they earned their first road win of the season. They had just enough and edged the Lincoln Trojans out 49-47. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Tigers have posted since November 30th.

Leading Columbia to victory were Gavin Broomfield and Zavian Douglas. Broomfield posted nine points along with six boards and five assists, while Douglas went 5 of 6 en route to 12 points and six rebounds. The dominant performance also gave Douglas a new career-high in blocks (two). Zamarion Jones was another key player, putting up four points and seven assists.

They weren't the only one working in the assists department: Columbia was working as a unit and finished the game with 19 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

The win got Columbia back to even at 6-6. As for Lincoln, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-4.

Columbia and Trenton will round out the year against one another at at 2:15 p.m. on Friday. Trenton is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 60 points per game this season. As for Lincoln, they will be taking part in a tournament against Rutherford at 1:30 p.m. on Friday.
