Elkhart saw some tournament action on Tuesday. They walked away with a 68-55 victory over the Las Animas Trojans. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Wildcats.

Elkhart's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Nathan Knelsen led the charge by as he made all 6 shots he took racking up 15 points along with six boards and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaden Perry, who went 5 of 6 en route to 17 points and five rebounds.

Kree Wallace and Aaron Vargas certainly did their best on Tuesday to avoid the loss. Wallace dropped a double-double on 15 points and 14 rebounds, while Vargas posted 17 points. The contest was Vargas' third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Logan Servaes, who had six points.

Elkhart's win bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Las Animas, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-1.

A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Elkhart Wildcats face off against the Cheyenne Wells Tigers at 10:30 a.m. on Friday. As for Las Animas, they will be taking part in a tournament against Syracuse at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Las Animas knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past three matches -- so hopefully Syracuse likes a good challenge.
