Football Recap: Homewood Patriots vs. Parker Thundering Herd
Homewood lost to Parker back in October of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Friday. The Patriots walked away with a 35-28 victory over the Thundering Herd. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Patriots.

Kaleb Carson continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 125 yards and three TDs, while also throwing for 153 yards and a pair of touchdowns while completing 73.9% of his passes. Those three rushing touchdowns gave him a new career-high. Homewood's leading receiver Tomon Felton was Carson's top target yet again, picking up 117 receiving yards and one score.
Homewood didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Tate Burdeshaw and John Martin. Martin is also on a roll when it comes to total tackles, as he's now made six or more in each of the last three games he's played.
Several Thundering Herd players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Isaiah Miles, who rushed for 110 yards and one TD on only ten carries. Jacoby Quates Jr was another key player, picking up 97 receiving yards and one touchdown.
Homewood's win bumped their record up to 7-1. As for Parker, their loss was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 6-3.
Homewood and Parker should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Alabama Rankings. The Patriots will challenge Minor at 7:00 p.m. on Friday with a big rank advantage (29 vs. 145). Meanwhile, Parker (ranked 20th) will meet Woodlawn (ranked 167th) at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
