Sanford entered their tilt with Sierra Grande on Saturday with two consecutive wins , and they'll enter their next game with three. They walked away with a 53-40 victory over the Sierra Grande Panthers. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 66-45 back in December of 2024.

Sierra Grande's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Rolando Najera, who went 6-for-13 en route to 16 points along with seven rebounds and four steals. Najera is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed three or more in each of the last five games he's played. Jadyn Martinez was another key player, putting up 11 points and six steals.

Sanford's record now sits at 18-5. As for Sierra Grande, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 18-5.

The two teams are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. Sanford will face off against Two Roads Charter School on Friday. We've got a battle between Panthers coming up. Sierra Grande is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 61.1 points per game this season.
