Baseball Recap: Maranatha Christian Academy Snaps Five-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

Maranatha Christian Academy proved they can win big on Monday (they won by 17) and on Thursday they proved they can win the close ones too. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Kansas City Christian School Panthers, sneaking past 3-2. This was a revenge game for the Eagles: when they faced off against the Panthers on April 8th, they had to take a 16-15 loss.

AJ Reischman spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on eight hits. He is becoming a predictor of Maranatha Christian Academy's success: when he allows at most two earned runs the team is 2-1 (and 1-5 when he doesn't).

On the hitting side, Caleb Cronin was excellent, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double. Chase Ingalsbe was another key player, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with one run and one RBI.

Maranatha Christian Academy's victory ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-6. As for Kansas City Christian School, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-6.

Looking ahead, Maranatha Christian Academy will be playing at home against Bishop Ward at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Kansas City Christian School, they will head out to face off against Crest at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
