Basketball Recap: Jaxen Jenkins' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Fort Ann over Wells

On Wednesday, the Fort Ann Cardinals lost to the Wells Wells CSD at home by a 52-37 margin.

Several Cardinals players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jaxen Jenkins, who posted seven points. The dominant performance also gave Jenkins a new career-high in blocks (two). Another player making a difference was Timmy Webb, who earned four points in addition to seven boards and three steals.

Wells got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Chase Brooks out in front who went 6 of 15 on his way to 18 points and three steals. Brooks' evening made it six games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Hunter Passmore was another key player, dropping a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds.

Fort Ann's defeat dropped their record down to 6-6. As for Wells, they pushed their record up to 11-2 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road.

Fort Ann wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 78-37 loss against Granville on the 24th. As for Wells, they will venture away from home to face off against Lake Placid at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Wells is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 67.1 points per game this season.
