Softball Preview: Freeport Falcons vs. York Wildcats

Freeport is 1-8 against York since May of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Freeport Falcons will head out on the road to face off against the York Wildcats at 4:30 p.m. The pair have allowed few runs on average, (Freeport: 3.3, York: 2.5) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Rosie Panenka and Vanessa St.Pierre stepped up to the plate in a big way. Panenka scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-4, while St.Pierre went 1-for-2 with a stolen base and two RBI.

Meanwhile, York stacked a tenth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Wednesday. They were the clear victor by a 13-3 margin over Gray-New Gloucester. The victory was just business as usual For York, who after 11 games remain undefeated this season.

Freeport's defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 9-1. As for York, their win was their 15th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 11-0.
