Basketball Recap: Eastmoor Academy's Win Ends Five-Game Losing Streak at Home

If Independence wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Eastmoor Academy, they should've done a better job of containing Dekar Moultry. The Eastmoor Academy Warriors walked away with a 62-52 victory over the Independence 76ers on Friday thanks in part to Moultry, who dropped a double-double on 24 points and 14 boards. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in boards.

The team also got some help courtesy of Aayden Johnson, who posted ten points and four steals. He is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last three games he's played.

Eastmoor Academy's win ended a five-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 3-7. As for Independence, they are on a 34-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-12.

Eastmoor Academy will head out to face off against Marion-Franklin at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Eastmoor Academy is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 52.7 points per game this season. As for Independence, they will welcome South at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. South also hasn't been messing around on offense: they've averaged 52.6 points per game.
