Basketball Game Preview: Marty Indian Braves vs. Burke Cougars

The Marty Indian Braves will venture away from home to face off against the Burke Cougars at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Marty Indian is headed into the contest having just posted their biggest win since January 10th on Friday. They took their match with ease, bagging a 75-21 victory over Flandreau Indian. The Braves have beaten the Indians the last six times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Indians has come to flipping the script.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Burke, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Saturday. They blew past Gregory 62-31 on Thursday. The Cougars have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven games by 20 points or more this season.

Marty Indian better keep an eye on Emmie Hausmann. She was instrumental in Burke's win, en route to 23 points and five steals. What's more, Hausmann also posted a 64% field goal percentage, which is the highest she's achieved since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Annie Connot, who on her way to 17 points and five rebounds.

Burke smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in 18 consecutive contests.

The win got Marty Indian back to even at 10-10. As for Burke, their victory bumped their record up to 13-8.
