Recap: Adrian Blackhawks vs. McDonald County Mustangs
If the Adrian Blackhawks were riding high off their 55-30 takedown of the Butler Bears on January 4th, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Adrian suffered a rough 62-40 defeat at the hands of McDonald County on Thursday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat Adrian has suffered since November 28, 2023.
McDonald County's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Roslynn Huston, who scored 11 points along with nine rebounds and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Carlee Cooper, who scored 12 points along with seven assists and two steals.
Adrian's loss dropped their record down to 6-4. As for McDonald County, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 13-5.
Adrian won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Rich Hill at 5:30 p.m. on January 19th. As for McDonald County, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Cassville at 7:30 p.m.
