Shelbyville waltzed into their game on Thursday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They walked away with a 63-54 victory over the Indianapolis Shortridge Blue Devils. Given the Golden Bears' advantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 63rd, while the Blue Devils are ranked 234th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Shelbyville's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Caden Claxton led the charge by going 6 of 14 on his way to 17 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Damon Badgley, who went 5 of 11 on his way to 14 points and five rebounds.

Despite the loss, Indianapolis Shortridge still got an impressive performance from Elijah Wilson, who posted 23 points. The contest was Wilson's ninth in a row with at least ten points. Jordan Yates was another key player, putting up six points and nine rebounds.

Shelbyville's record is now 8-2. As for Indianapolis Shortridge, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-6 record this season.
