Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a  season-high score is even better (just ask West Florida). They blew past the Escambia Gators, posting  a  74-36 victory. Given the Jaguars' advantage  in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings  (they are ranked 106th, while the Gators are ranked 489th), the result  on Tuesday wasn't entirely unexpected.
West Florida's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but  Shania Beeks led the charge by  going 8 of 19  en route to 19  points along with eight  assists and six  boards. The dominant performance also gave  Beeks a new career-high in  blocks (two). Another player making a difference was  Keyarsten Lewis, who  went 6 of 10  en route to 14  points along with eight  assists and five  steals.
 West Florida  smashed the offensive glass and  finished the game with 13  offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now  pulled down at least eight  offensive boards in 18 consecutive  matches.
 Escambia's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was   Tyauna English, who  posted 16 points and five  rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of  Demi Liu, who  had 13 points and five  rebounds.
West Florida's record is now 13-7. As for Escambia, they have  been struggling recently as they've  lost six of their last seven games,  which put a noticeable dent in their 4-7 record  this season.
 West Florida will welcome Pensacola Catholic  at 1:30  p.m.  on Monday. As for Escambia, they will head out to  challenge Pensacola  at 6:00  p.m.  on Friday.
