Preview: Marble Falls Mustangs vs. Burnet Bulldogs
The Marble Falls Mustangs will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the Burnet Bulldogs at 6:30 p.m. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Marble Falls comes in on three and Burnet on five.
Last Tuesday, Marble Falls was able to grind out a solid win over Lago Vista, taking the game 45-33.
Marble Falls' success was spearheaded by the efforts of Bethany Fry, who scored 12 points along with eight rebounds, and Lexie Edwards, who scored ten points along with nine rebounds. Another player making a difference was Kylie Roberts, who scored seven points along with ten rebounds and five steals.
Meanwhile, Burnet can now show off nine landslide victories after their most recent contest on Friday. They breezed by Lago Vista on the road to the tune of 59-31. Given Burnet's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 131st, while Lago Vista is ranked 864th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Marble Falls' win bumped their record up to 7-19. As for Burnet, their win bumped their record up to 23-7.
Marble Falls might still be hurting after the 43-23 loss they got from Burnet in their previous matchup on January 5th. The matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point Marble Falls was down 32-11.
