Soccer Game Preview: Hondo vs. Uvalde

Hondo is 0-7 against Uvalde since February of 2022 but things could change on Tuesday. The Hondo Owls will host the Uvalde Coyotes/Lobos (for girls) at 7:00 p.m. Hondo has given up an average of 2.6 goals per game this season, so hopefully the team got some defensive drills in this week.

Hondo managed to keep up with Floresville until halftime on Friday, but things quickly went downhill from there. Hondo came up short against Floresville, falling 5-0. Having soared to a lofty eight goals in the game before, the Owls' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Uvalde played against Pearsall on Friday and won via forfeit.

The win was the seventh in a row for Uvalde, bringing their record for this year to 9-6. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those seven contests. As for Hondo, their loss dropped their record down to 5-12.
