Seminole Ridge takes loss despite strong efforts from Alejandro Alava and Paul Robinson

Recap: Seminole Ridge Hawks vs. Royal Palm Beach Wildcats

The Seminole Ridge Hawks's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their ninth straight loss. They suffered a tough 75-49 loss at the hands of Royal Palm Beach. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Seminole Ridge in their matchups with Royal Palm Beach: they've now lost nine in a row.

Paul Robinson and Alejandro Alava certainly did their best on Wednesday to try and avoid the loss. Robinson scored 13 points along with two steals, while Alava scored 12 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Alava has scored all season. Calvin Warren was another key contributor, scoring ten points.

Jayden Coney continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Royal Palm Beach, scoring 20 points along with five rebounds. Coney hasn't dropped below 15points for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Edward Wood, who scored 12 points along with five rebounds.

Seminole Ridge has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost 11 of their last 12 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-15 record this season. As for Royal Palm Beach, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 14-4 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Seminole Ridge won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Palm Beach Central at 7:30 p.m. on January 18th. Palm Beach Central presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Seminole Ridge in Florida (Palm Beach Central is ranked 99th, while Seminole Ridge is ranked 689th). As for Royal Palm Beach, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Palm Beach Lakes at 7:30 p.m.
