Basketball Game Preview: High School of the Future vs. Martin Luther King Cougars

High School of the Future will take on the Martin Luther King Cougars at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in High School of the Future's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last five matches.

On Tuesday, High School of the Future lost to Roxborough on the road by a 73-57 margin.

Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Marcus Mickens, who posted 14 points. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Kareem Chappelle, who scored 13 points.

Meanwhile, Martin Luther King slipped by Hill Freedman World Academy 42-41 on Tuesday. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Cougars' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 476th, while Hill Freedman World Academy are ranked 233rd).

The win made it two in a row for Martin Luther King and bumps their season record up to 7-3. As for High School of the Future, their loss dropped their record down to 14-4.

High School of the Future beat Martin Luther King 54-45 in their previous meeting back in February of 2024. Will High School of the Future repeat their success, or does Martin Luther King have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
