Softball Recap: Abingdon Beats Lee for Their Third Straight Victory

Abingdon barely beat Lee the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Falcons blew past the Generals 13-3 on Tuesday. The Falcons might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight contests by six runs or more this season.

Abingdon got a massive performance out of Brenna Green, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with one triple, two RBI, and one run. That triple marked the first that Green has hit this season. Mariah Branscomb was another key player, going 1-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.

Abingdon always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .590. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lee only posted an OBP of .304.

The victory was the third in a row for Abingdon, bringing their record up to 14-2. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for Lee, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-5-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Abingdon will venture away from home to face off against Eastside at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Spartans will roll in looking for their 13th straight victory, something the Falcons surely won't give up without a fight. As for Lee, they are taking a road trip to take on Ridgeview at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
