Soccer Game Preview: Schaumburg vs. Barrington

The Schaumburg Saxons will venture away from home to take on the Barrington Fillies/Broncos at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Schaumburg's last four contests have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

If Schaumburg beats Barrington with two goals on Friday, it's going to be the squad's new lucky number: they've won their past two matchups with that exact score. The Saxons beat Wheeling by a goal, winning 2-1. That's two games straight that Schaumburg have won by just one goal.

Meanwhile, Barrington unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-match winning streak on Monday. Neither they nor Prospect could gain the upper hand so the two teams had to settle for a 1-1 draw. The result kept Barrington happy, as they haven't lost a game since September 9th.

Schaumburg now has a winning record of 5-4-2. Barrington's draw gives them a new season record of 8-2-2.

Schaumburg took their victory against Barrington when the teams last played on September 9th by a conclusive 3-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Saxons since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
