Baseball Recap: Van Nuys Victorious

Van Nuys came out on top against Vaughn on Friday thanks in part to the team's impressive nine-run third inning. The Wolves had just enough and edged out the White Tigers 12-11. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Wolves have posted since May 3, 2025.

Conner Alagozyan was a standout: he went 3-for-5 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. Van Nuys is undefeated when Alagozyan posts two or more runs, but 2-8 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Kevin Mata, who went 2-for-5 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Van Nuys always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .523. They are a perfect 6-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

The win got Van Nuys back to even at 8-8. As for Vaughn, with the loss, they broke their five-game winning streak and moved their record to 8-6.
