Kinston had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They put the hurt on the James Kenan Tigers with a sharp 30-7 win on Thursday. The result was nothing new for the Vikings, who have now won seven games by 21 points or more so far this season.

Kinston had a senior duo take command as Genesis Wiggins gained 95 total yards and two touchdowns and Tyler Jones threw for 184 yards and three touchdowns. Jones' passing game has become a key predictor of the Vikings' success: the team is 10-2 when his passer rating is 100 or higher, but only 1-2 otherwise.

Despite the loss, James Kenan still got an impressive performance from Jeremiah Hall, who rushed for 128 yards and one score. Hall's rushing production has been exceptional as that marked his sixth straight game with at least 105 rushing yards.

Kinston pushed their record up to 11-4 with the victory, which was their sixth straight on the road. As for James Kenan, they moved to 12-2 with that loss, which also ended their 11-game winning streak.

Looking ahead, Kinston will take on Shelby at 2:00 p.m. on the 13th. The Vikings will need to watch out since the Golden Lions have now posted at least 31 points in their last 12 contests. James Kenan does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
