Recap: Poca The Dots vs. Sissonville Indians

The Poca The Dots's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their fourth straight loss. They were the victim of a tough 69-45 defeat at the hands of Sissonville. While losing is never fun, Poca can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' West Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 80th, while Sissonville is ranked 20th).

Several The Dots players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Chloe Wheeler, who scored four points along with seven rebounds and six assists. Wheeler is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last five games she's played. Shiloh Harding was another key contributor, scoring nine points.

Even though they lost, Poca were working as a unit and finished the game with 14 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Poca has not been sharp recently, as they've lost seven of their last nine games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-10 record this season. As for Sissonville, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 10-4.

Poca will head out on the road to challenge Nitro at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Nitro focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 18 last Saturday. As for Sissonville, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Winfield at 7:00 p.m. Winfield is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak.
