Softball Recap: Irvington Comes Up Short

Irvington extended their losing streak to three on Thursday, dropping them down to 2-4. They came up short against the Kennedy Titans, falling 18-0. If the Vikings were looking for revenge after losing 16-0 to the Titans when the teams met back in May of 2025, then they'll just have to keep looking.

As for Kennedy, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-7. That 18-run margin sets a new team best for them this season.

For Kennedy's part, the team relied heavily on Savannah De La Mater, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one double. Those three RBI gave De La Mater a new career-high. Elena Garibay also deserves some recognition as she got her first hit of the season.

Irvington will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Moreau Catholic at 4:00 p.m. on the 14th. As for Kennedy, they will head out on the road to square off against Tennyson at 4:00 p.m. on the 10th.
