Volleyball Recap: Buckeye Starts Season with Loss on the Road

Buckeye had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They fell just short of the Estrella Foothills Wolves by a score of 3-2 on Thursday. If the Hawks were looking for revenge after losing 2-0 to the Wolves when the teams met back in September of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Buckeye took Estrella Foothills into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking three-point loss. The final score came out to 25-16, 25-16, 17-25, 24-26, 15-12.

Estrella Foothills was led to victory by Giselle Wochner and Sadie Snyder. Wochner had 13 digs and six assists, while Snyder had 21 kills and 15 digs. That's the most digs Wochner has posted since back in October of 2024.

Buckeye has already played their next match, a 2-0 win against Willow Canyon on the 29th. As for Estrella Foothills, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 2-0 victory against Odyssey Institute on the 29th.
