Softball Recap: Riverside's Run of Four Straight Victories Now Over

After flying high against Charleston last Thursday, Riverside came back down to earth. The Riverside Bulldogs lost 7-1 to the Cleveland Central Wolves on Friday. The Bulldogs were red-hot at the plate heading into the contest (they scored no less than ten runs in the four games prior), but the Wolves' pitchers proved too tough.

The loss snapped Riverside's winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 4-3 record. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 16.8 runs over those games. As for Cleveland Central, they pushed their record up to 5-2 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home.

Riverside will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on North Side at 5:30 p.m. on March 18th. As for Cleveland Central, they are taking a road trip to challenge Yazoo City at 6:00 p.m. on March 17th.
