Basketball Preview: Lone Peak Knights vs. Herriman Mustangs        
        
		
             Lone Peak is 9-1 against Herriman since January of 2015, and they'll have a chance to extend that success  on Thursday. The Lone Peak Knights will square off against the Herriman Mustangs at 1:20  p.m. One thing working in Lone Peak's favor is that they have posted at least 55  points  every time they've taken the court this season.
 Last Wednesday, Lone Peak ended up a good deal behind Orem and lost  71-55. The loss was the Knights' first of the season.
 Lone Peak's  defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of  Crew Fotheringham, who  went 7 for 13 en route to 19 points, and  Austin Simon, who  went 5 for 12 en route to 13 points. Fotheringham's evening made it three games in a row in which  he has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was  Logan Brimhall, who  had four points.
 Meanwhile,  you're bound to get a positive result if you outscore your opponent every quarter, and that's exactly how it played out for Herriman  on Tuesday. They were the clear victor by  a  69-48 margin over Westlake. The  win was just business as usual for the Mustangs, who after three games remain undefeated  this season.
 Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Herriman to victory, but perhaps none more so than   Carlo Mulford, who  scored 17 points plus six  assists and four  steals. Mulford has been hot recently, having  posted 15 or more points the last four times he's  played.  Cale Barclay was another key player,  scoring 19 points along with six  assists and two  steals.
 Having lost for the first time  this season, Lone Peak  fell to 2-1. As for Herriman, their victory bumped their record up to 3-0.
 Some high-performance offense is likely on the agenda as  the two teams are some of the highest scoring teams in the league. Lone Peak hasn't had any problem running up the score this season,  having  averaged 65 points per game. However, it's not like Herriman struggles in that department as   they've been averaging 65.7. With both teams so easily able to put up points, the only question left is who can run the score up higher.
 Lone Peak took their  win against Herriman  in their previous matchup  back in December of 2022 by a conclusive  93-69. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Herriman's  Ike Palmer, who  had 25 points plus five  rebounds.
