Football Recap: Johnstown-Monroe's Run of Five Straight Victories Now Over + How To Watch

Johnstown-Monroe and Jonathan Alder squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Johnstown-Monroe had to settle for second. They lost 42-21 to the Pioneers. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Johnnies have suffered since November 1, 2024.

When it comes to explaining why Johnstown-Monroe lost, don't look at Ryan Sager. Despite the final result, he rushed for 187 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 8.1 yards per carry, and also picked up 56 receiving yards. Sager's rushing production has been exceptional as that marked his sixth straight game with at least 153 rushing yards. Another player making a difference was Luke Carter, who rushed for 75 yards.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Jonathan Alder to victory, but perhaps none more so than Brock Hughes, who threw for 149 yards and three TDs on only nine passes. Hughes also rushed for two rushing yards, marking his first of the season. Cashton Wheeler helped out on the ground, rushing for 99 yards and a rushing touchdown.
