Cabrini was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 24-16 to the Parkway Christian Eagles. On the bright side, the 16- run performance marked the Monarchs' highest-scoring matchup to date.

Raquel Zamarron led a balanced group of hitters, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances. She also got two hits, marking her first of the season. Clara Bondareff was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 3-for-5.

Cabrini's loss dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Parkway Christian, the win got them back to even at 1-1.

Coming up, Cabrini will take on Shrine Catholic at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Monarchs' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Knights have averaged an impressive 12.2 runs per game this season. As for Parkway Christian, they will square off against Plymouth Christian Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
