Softball Recap: Elizabethton Fighting Cyclones vs. Sullivan East Patriots        
        
		
            
 In what's become a running theme this season, Elizabethton gave their fans yet another huge  victory on Thursday. They were the clear victor by  a  9-1 margin over the Sullivan East Patriots. That's more bragging rights for Elizabethton, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.
  Lela Byrd made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound,   striking out 11 batters over  5.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off   six  hits. Byrd was also big at the plate,  scoring a  run while going 1-for-4.
 In other batting news,  the team  relied heavily on  Sadie Williams, who  went 3-for-4 with a  home run, three  RBI,  and two  runs.  Mckenna Blackwell was another key contributor,  scoring two  runs while going 1-for-3.
 On Sullivan East's side, they saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  Olivia Ashbrook, who  scored a  run while going 2-for-4.
 Elizabethton is  on a roll lately: they've  won nine of their last 11 matches,  which provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record  this season. As for Sullivan East, they have  not been sharp recently as the team has  lost eight of their last ten matchups,  which put a noticeable dent in their 6-17 record  this season.
 Elizabethton will head out on the road to  square off against  John Battle at 5:30  p.m.  on Monday. Elizabethton is looking to tack on another W to their six-game streak on the road. As for Sullivan East, they will square off against Chuckey-Doak at 4:30  p.m.  on Friday. Sullivan East is facing Chuckey-Doak at the right time seeing as Chuckey-Doak is stuck on  a  seven-game losing streak.
