Volleyball Recap: Christian Heritage Starts Season with Win at Home

Christian Heritage gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Thursday. They came out on top against the East Texas Homeschool Sports Chargers by a score of 3-1. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Christian Heritage had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 23-25, 25-16, 25-17, 25-20.

Several Chargers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Katie Walton, who had five kills, four aces, and three digs. Kendall Corbin was another key player, getting seven kills, five digs, and one block.

Christian Heritage will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against King's Academy at 6:00 p.m. on September 9. As for East Texas Homeschool Sports, they will challenge Longview Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
