Football Recap: Wartburg Central Bulldogs vs. Greenback Cherokees
The Wartburg Central Bulldogs had to suffer through a 48-7 loss at the hands of the Greenback Cherokees.
Despite the loss, Wartburg Central saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Jalyn Thomas rushed for 119 yards on only nine carries.

It was another big night for Elliott Lindsey, who rushed for 201 yards and four scores while picking up 12.6 yards per carry, and also caught one touchdown for Greenback. Lindsey is becoming a predictor of the Cherokees' success: when he posts at least two rushing touchdowns the team is 2-1 (and 1-3 when he doesn't). Cade Breedlove was another key back, rushing for 53 yards and one TD.
Wartburg Central dropped their record down to 2-5 with the defeat, which was their third straight at home. As for Greenback, their record now sits at 3-4.

As for Greenback, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Oakdale at 7:00 p.m. on the 17th.
