Basketball Recap: Friday's Victory Is Loomis' Fifth in Last Six Outings

If Pleasanton wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Loomis, they should've done a better job of containing Ben Trompke. The Loomis Wolves managed a 72-66 victory over the Pleasanton Bulldogs on Friday thanks in part to Trompke, who went 12 of 19 to rack up 30 points along with five steals and three blocks. That's the most steals he has posted since back in January of 2024.

Cade Hays was another key player, putting up 12 points and three steals. He is also on a roll when it comes to three-point shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 40% in the last three games he's played.

When it comes to explaining why Pleasanton lost, don't look at Brennan Lindner. Despite the final result, he put up 31 points. That was a full 47% of Pleasanton's points, marking the 11th time in a row he's scored more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Maddox Boyd, who earned 15 points.

Loomis is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-8 record this season. As for Pleasanton, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-11.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Loomis will venture away from home to take on Axtell at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Loomis is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 65.1 points per game this season. As for Pleasanton, they will face off against Blue Hill at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
