Soccer Recap: Mariner Extends Winning Streak to Three

Mariner kept a clean sheet against Auburndale on Friday. They came out on top against the Auburndale Bloodhounds by a score of 2-0. Given the Tritons' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida soccer rankings (they are ranked 15th, while the Bloodhounds are ranked 102nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Caroline Orth and Isabela Resto scored both of Mariner's goals, bringing their combined season tally to ten goals.

The victory (which was Mariner's third in a row) raised their record to 12-1. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those three matchups. As for Auburndale, they moved to 5-4 with that loss, which also ended their four-game winning streak.

Mariner didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next game, a 2-1 win against Plant on the 4th. As for Auburndale, they will square off against McKeel Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
