Softball Recap: Packinghouse Christian Academy Bears vs. Norton Science & Language Academy Rockets

Packinghouse Christian Academy took care of business in their home opener (and then some) on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Norton Science & Language Academy Rockets with a sharp 18-1 win. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Bears as it put an end to their seven-game losing streak dating back to last season.

Emily Toma was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 12 over four innings pitched. Toma was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three stolen bases, and four RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Madison Hopkins, who scored three runs and stole Seven bases. while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.
