Soccer Game Preview: Northwestern vs. Catawba Ridge

Northwestern is 0-4 against Catawba Ridge since March of 2023 but things could change on Thursday. The Northwestern Trojans will be defending their home pitch for the first time this season when they go up against the Catawba Ridge Copperheads at 7:00 p.m.

Northwestern is headed into Thursday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Tuesday. They lost 9-0 to Nation Ford.

Meanwhile, while the 2-2 score might suggest a draw, it was Catawba Ridge who was credited with the victory on Tuesday. Catawba Ridge got it done in the shootout by posting five goals to Fort Mill's four. The win continues a trend for the Copperheads in their matchups with the Yellow Jackets: they've now won three in a row.

McKenna Randall and Brooks Dority scored both of Catawba Ridge's goals, bringing their combined season tally to four goals.

Catawba Ridge's victory bumped their record up to 6-1. As for Northwestern, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-3.

Northwestern might still be hurting after the 11-0 loss they got from Catawba Ridge when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can Northwestern avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
