            The Coronado Thunderbirds will face off against the Pebble Hills Spartans at 7:30  p.m.  on Friday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.
Coronado's last matchup with Franklin could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's  game on Thursday. The Thunderbirds took a  blow against the Cougars, falling  59-7. The Thunderbirds haven't had much luck with the Cougars recently, as the team has come up short the last eight times they've met.
 Despite the  defeat, Coronado saw an underclassman step up: sophomore  West Stansbury threw for 190 yards and one  touchdown while completing 79.2% of his passes.
Meanwhile, Pebble Hills lost  42-17 to Cleveland last Friday. The loss was the Spartans' first of the season.
 Coronado will have to contain  Joe Fernandez as he made an impact in Pebble Hills' last game. He threw for 153 yards and a pair of  TDs, and also rushed for 72 yards on only five carries.
 Coronado's loss dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Pebble Hills, their  defeat was their first of the  season and  makes their record 3-1.
 Coronado took a serious blow against Pebble Hills  when the teams last played  back in October of 2024, falling  56-16. Thankfully for the Thunderbirds,  Zereian Quarles (who rushed for 274 yards and four  scores while picking up 11.4 yards per carry) won't be suiting up this time.
