Volleyball Recap: Cheraw Wolverines vs. Briggsdale Falcons

Cheraw and Briggsdale squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Cheraw had to settle for second. They lost 3-0 to the Briggsdale Falcons. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Wolverines of the 3-1 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in November of 2023.

While Cheraw was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Briggsdale's winning margin in every set. The match finished with set scores of 25-16, 25-21, 25-23.

Despite the defeat, Cheraw saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Hailey Ricken had eight digs and two aces. That's the most aces Ricken has posted in her last six games.
