Basketball Recap: Shadow Mountain Takes a Loss

Shadow Mountain was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 12th straight loss dating back to last season. They took a blow against the Paradise Honors Panthers, falling 78-6. The matchup marked the Matadors' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Tess Newport was Shadow Mountain's leading scorer, having posted four points. Ailyn Ramos held things down on the boards with ten rebounds.

Paradise Honors got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Lizzy Guincho out in front who went 6 of 15 on her way to 14 points in addition to eight steals and five assists. Guincho is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed three or more in the last 11 games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaelyn Perez, who went 7 for 10 on her way to 14 points and six steals.

Shadow Mountain's defeat dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Paradise Honors, they pushed their record up to 11-4 with the victory, which was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season.

Shadow Mountain didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 33-13 loss against Paradise Valley on the 8th. As for Paradise Honors, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 78-40 win against Deer Valley on the 8th.
