Tipton and Manchester squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but Tipton had to settle for second. They lost to the Manchester Squires on the road by a 54-36 margin. The Blue Devils' defeat signaled the end of their eight-game winning streak.

Several Blue Devils players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Sam Quigley, who posted 12 points and five rebounds. Grady Carpenter was another key player, putting up 11 points.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Manchester to victory, but perhaps none more so than Gavin Betten, who dropped a double-double with 20 points and 11 boards. Betten has been hot for a while, having posted 18 or more points the last 21 times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Tallon Torpy, who shot 70% from the field on his way to 18 points and six rebounds.

Tipton's loss dropped their record down to 19-7. As for Manchester, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 23-2.

Tipton does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Manchester, they will challenge Jimtown at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Manchester is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 67.6 points per game this season.
