Hopewell-Loudon has gone a perfect 4-0 against Arcadia recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Chieftains will square off against the Redskins at 5:00 p.m. Hopewell-Loudon is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.8 runs per game this season.
Hopewell-Loudon will roll into the game after a wild two-game stretch: they didn't score any runs on Tuesday, then bounced right back against St. Mary Central Catholic on Wednesday. The Chieftains blew past the Panthers 18-1. The win continues a trend for the Chieftains in their matchups with the Panthers: they've now won seven in a row.
Brynn Sendelbach and Araceli Velasquez were a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Sendelbach tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Meanwhile, Velasquez pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up a single earned run in four consecutive appearances. At the plate, Sendelbach scored four runs and stole a base while going 4-for-5, while Velasquez scored three runs and stole two bases while going 4-for-5. That's the most hits Sendelbach has posted since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, AnneMarie Berg was incredible, going 4-for-5 with three RBI, one triple, and one stolen base. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. Sidney Brickner was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.
Hopewell-Loudon kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 18 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Arcadia posted their closest victory since May 8, 2024 on Wednesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 13-12 win over Riverdale. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Redskins.
Alanna Tucker made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out seven batters over seven innings while giving up three earned (and nine unearned) runs off 14 hits (and not a single walk). With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 5.1 strikeouts per game. She was even better at the plate, scoring four runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-4.
In other batting news, Jade Johnson was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one double. That double was her first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Addyson McCartney, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.
The victory got Arcadia back to even at 6-6. As for Hopewell-Loudon, their record is now 8-5.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Thursday as neither team is afraid to steal. Hopewell-Loudon has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.2 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Arcadia struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3.5 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Everything went Hopewell-Loudon's way against Arcadia when the teams last played back in April of 2024, as Hopewell-Loudon made off with an 11-1 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Chieftains since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
