The Oconee Christian Academy Warriors will be home for the holidays to greet the Richard Winn Academy Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Thursday, Oconee Christian Academy was able to grind out a solid victory over Tabernacle Christian, taking the game 51-39.
Oconee Christian Academy's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Daniel Frick, who scored 19 points along with five rebounds, and Carson Duncan, who scored 22 points along with eight steals and seven assists. That makes it three consecutive games in which Frick has scored at least 25% of Oconee Christian Academy's points. Another player making a difference was Derek Pierce, who scored five points.
Meanwhile, Richard Winn Academy put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They breezed by Our Lady of the Rosary at home to the tune of 64-33. Considering Richard Winn Academy has won five contests by more than 20 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Oconee Christian Academy's win bumped their record up to 4-6. As for Richard Winn Academy, they pushed their record up to 6-0 with that victory, which was their 16th straight at home dating back to last season.
Oconee Christian Academy was taken down by Richard Winn Academy 56-29 when the teams last played back in January. Thankfully for Oconee Christian Academy, Lawson Wade (who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 19 rebounds) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
