Softball Game Preview: Conard Red Wolves vs. East Catholic Eagles

The Conard Red Wolves will square off against the East Catholic Eagles at 3:45 p.m. on Monday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

East Catholic will be up against a hot Conard squad: the team just extended their winning streak to three. Everything went the Red Wolves' way against South Windsor on Thursday as they made off with a 16-4 win. That 12 run margin sets a new team best for the Red Wolves this season.

Meanwhile, East Catholic made easy work of Platt on Wednesday and carried off a 14-1 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Eagles.

Ciara Flaherty was incredible, firing off two home runs, four runs, and five RBI while going 3-for-3. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Ella Lassard, who went 2-for-3 with two doubles, two RBI, and one run.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: East Catholic kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Platt only managed three hits.

East Catholic now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Conard, their win bumped their record up to 5-1.
